Ever had one of those days

where you're SO proud of yourself for taking the time to bake a few dozen cookies... that is until you realize you forgot to add the baking soda?

But hey, it's not all bad. I just watched two episodes of How Clean is Your House? on BBC (just discovered that channel and show recently!) and my slightly messy/cluttered house suddenly feels immaculate.

For those of you that are wondering, I made these cookies.

Only I don't cook with shortening, so I used extra virgin coconut oil instead, added a little extra flour, substituted some cinnamon instead of vanilla, and added 1/2 cup chopped pecans and a dash of salt. They're pretty good, but I highly recommend you don't forget the baking soda.

Those cookies sound good. I also have used baking soda when baking powder is called for. That works, but not that great.

Those cookies do sound good!!!

Can you believe some of those messy houses you see on TV? Martha Stewart I am not, and I can even tolerate quite a bit of clutter, but YIKES!

I've left baking soda out before. It's not quite as bad as forgetting salt or yeast in bread; now, that's gross! Enjoy your cookies!

Um...yesterday we attempted brownies without an egg. Note: water and a bit of cream of tartar is NOT a substitute.
